Hardin County Jail Mugshots
The Hardin County sheriff roster displays booking photos for inspected roster records. The official OCV feed included an images array with small and large JPEG files tied to inmate IDs. Each inspected entry had one front-facing booking image, along with public booking fields. No official separate Hardin County recent-booking-photo gallery, historical mugshot archive, or multi-angle image set was located.
The roster is run through the Hardin sheriff OCV site and the Multi-County Correctional Center pathway. That means the photo is connected to a jail booking record. It is not a conviction record and does not replace the formal court docket. A charge beside a mugshot may later be amended, reduced, dismissed, or resolved in court.

A booking photo appears beside identity, physical description, booking, and charge fields. The roster did not show a full criminal-history file. It also did not show bond, housing unit, judge, court date, case number, address, or removal eligibility in the inspected entries.

Are Hardin County Mugshots Public
Ohio's Public Records Act generally controls access to public records unless an exemption applies. The research did not locate a Hardin County policy that treats all booking photos as withheld. In practice, the inspected official roster records included mugshot images. Ohio also has a specific statute addressing booking photographs in the context of commercial removal-fee practices.

Mugshot access uses the same roster controls as inmate lookup. The roster is searchable and sortable, but no separate photo-only filter was located. Use a name search, then open the roster entry to see whether a photo is attached.

Mugshot Roster Retention
No official Hardin or MCCC source gave a fixed online retention window for booking photos. The inspected feed included records with blank release dates and records with populated release dates, so some released records remained visible at inspection time. Do not assume the roster is current-inmates-only, and do not assume a photo will stay online for a set number of hours or days.
What is and is not public: The roster may show one booking photo and basic booking data. It did not show bond, housing, court dates, detainers, addresses, medical data, or a photo-removal eligibility field.
Request Hardin County Booking Photos
If a booking photo is not online, use the sheriff records process. The Hardin sheriff records request page says requests may be made in person or by phone during normal business hours. The records office phone is 419-673-1268 ext. 1407, and the records email is eroy@hardinsheriff.com. Include the incident type, date, at least one involved or reporting party, report number if known, and any inmate ID or booking date available.
The records page says records are typically not available for 3 to 5 business days after an incident is reported. That does not mean a roster photo will never appear sooner. It means formal reports or records requests may lag behind the arrest and booking event.

Mugshot Removal and Sealing
No official Hardin County roster-removal policy was located. For county records, the practical route is a court order where Ohio law allows sealing or expungement, followed by contact with the originating records custodian. A dismissed charge does not automatically erase every public copy, and a sealed court record may require separate follow-up with agencies that hold booking records.
Ohio's booking-photo statute focuses on commercial sites that charge to remove or change criminal-record information. It should not be read as a promise that every official booking photo will vanish on request. Avoid paying or relying on commercial mugshot publishers. Use the court and records-custodian process instead.
State and Federal Booking Photos
ODRC records are not the same as county booking photos. ODRC may show offender photos for state prison records, but the locator is for sentenced prison and supervision status, not immediate jail booking. Federal BOP and U.S. Marshals public locator systems generally do not publish county-style booking mugshots. ICE's locator also does not work like a county mugshot roster.
